Diploma In Information Technology & Computer Services – Level 5

Course Overview

This course aims to equip graduates with the practice based knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to enable them to work in the computing industry at an introductory professional level with an understanding and practical ability in computer hardware, network design and structure, and computing services and to prepare students towards the completion of industry qualifications such  as A+ and Networking+.  Graduates of this course will be able to confidently and professionally deliver a limited range of systems technology services related to computer hardware, network design, structure, establishment and maintenance and computing services to clients in specific technical contexts.




Course Intake

Four intakes per year.  Available to Domestic as well as International Students.

Entry Requirements

All applicants are required to be at least 18 years of age, hold a level 3 qualification or equivalent and provide a curriculum vitae and completed application form,  International students are required to have achieved an IELTS level of 5.5 or equivalent.  Applicants will be interviewed in order to assess their suitability for the course wherever possible.  Precious work experience or a demonstrated interest in the field of Information Technology and Computer Services is required for entry to this course.  All applicants to the course will be required to complete an application form which demonstrates their interest in the subject matter.

If you do not meet the Academic and English language requirements specified, special entry may be granted where the Institute is satisfied that you are capable of undertaking this course of study. Learners from the Pacific should have passed the Seventh Form Examination/Year 13 & obtained a pass in English.

Special admission may be granted to learners aged 20 years or over who do not meet the specified entry requirements if they have equivalent life and/or work experience. These learners will be required to demonstrate an ability to successfully complete the programme through an interview.

information Technology and Customer Service; Network Fundamentals; Network Operating Systems; Network Administration; Network+; Microsoft Applications; group Development Project; Practicum/Work-based Experience. Course content includes critical and research-based studies of computer hardware, network design, structure, establishment and maintenance, computing services and industry qualifications including A+ and Networking+.

Computer Service Worker, Computer Systems Maintenance Technician, Service Administrator, Service Engineer, Network Technician.
